Snopes.com provides all the information you'll need to either authenticate or debunk the latest urban legends. According to the site, an urban legend is defined as a story that is said to be true that circulates widely with differing details or multiple versions. Legends are broken up categorically and items are identified as true, false or undetermined using colored bullets.

    I discovered this one a few years back and I use it a lot. If everyone would check out their stories and virus warnings at sites that expose the hoaxes, there would be a HELL of a lot less junk e-mail being forwarded all over the globe.
