In an effort to make your goofball.com experience even better, we have upgraded our chat service. On July 1st, the existing chat room will be closed permanently. In its place will be the new chat application - Jabber.
Jabber is an instant messenger client with the ability to create conference rooms, very much like AIM, MSN and Yahoo!. In fact, with Jabber you can use one application to chat will all of your friends who are using those other services.
This chat server is located on our servers -- the major benefit being that you will be able to instant message with other goofballers and IM username will match their goofball username. No more fakes, no more anonymous posers. You also have the ability to "block" users, so they will not be able to contact you.
If you are a paying member of Goofball.com, you have access to Goofball Chat if you want it. If you are not much into chatting -- that's fine with us -- don't bother installing the Jabber software via the following instructions.
Directions
Here are the directions to download the client.
First, Download the Jabber software. You should install the above client in the default location that it asks.
The server you will need to connect to is:
chat.goofball.com
After that, you should be all set.
Your username and password is the same as your Goofball login information.
Please email us with any questions and someone will get back to you.
