An executive from Tyson Foods arranges to visit the Pope. After receiving the papal blessing he says, "Your Eminence, we have a deal for you. If you change The Lord's Prayer from 'give us this day our daily bread,' to 'give us this day our daily chicken,' then we will donate $500 million dollars to the Church."

The Pope responds, "That is impossible. The prayer is the word of the Lord and it must not be changed."

"Well," says the Tyson man, "We are prepared to donate $1 billion to the cChurch if you do this for us."

Again the Pope replies, "Impossible."

Finally, the Tyson guy says, "This is our last offer. We will donate $5 billion to the church if you change the Lord's Prayer from 'give us this day our daily bread' to 'give us this day our daily chicken.'" And he leaves.

The next day, the Pope meets with the College of Cardinals to say that he has good news and some bad news.

"The good news is that the Church has come into $5 billion. The bad news is that we're losing the Wonder Bread account."

I planted it out back and after 40 days and 40 nights or something a giant beanstalk grew in the backyard so I climbed it and I found a beautiful magical kingdom with golden palaces and nice-kept shrubbery and I knocked on the door of the palace and a two-headed Sri Lankan furry mammoth-goat popped out and threw Pop Tart toaster pastries at me at an alarming rate, and so I ran and hid behind two dogs for what seemed like forever, until I died and was reborn as Jesus Christ...you know the rest

Ever notice how the Lord's Prayer starts off by honouring Him, then continues by demanding everything else?
