Between 1951 and 1957, Don King was a well know criminal in and around Cleveland, Ohio. He was arrested several times with charges ranging from gambling to manslaughter. Here are some of the charges and outcomes of his arrested: In 1954, while running a gambling house, Don King killed Hillary Brown in what was later ruled self defense. In 1955, for arson. In 1959, under suspicion of being a possible drug dealer. In 1963, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. In 1966, arrested for nonnegligent manslaughter for stomping and pistol whipping Sam Garrett to death; he was convicted of second degree murder. A judge suspended his sentence and ordered a new trial, where he was convicted of nonneglient homicide. He spent 3 1/2 years in prison. Between 1951 and 1965; 15 traffic violations.
