Policeman Caught Shoplifting in Uniform

A German police chief was caught shoplifting in his uniform by a store detective, police and government officials said. The officer, in charge of around 300 police officers in the state of Hesse, was observed as he slipped a bottle of ant poison worth a few marks (dollars) into his pocket in a store. Bild newspaper reported that he had been suspended. It also said that he ran off when approached and was detained by colleagues in a passing police car. The man, who was not named, has taken sick leave. This guy would fit in nice in NY. Why not join the rest of us on the inside and get all of Goofball.com?

It Never Fails (0 replies) started by starrman69 (06.12.2001 9:40:18 PM EST) That when one cop does something wrong, that people come out of the woodwork with their "bad cop stories" DaBoneDaddy, your niece's husband is either leading a charmed life or his incidents were unfounded. I would question any officer that would have killed an unarmed person, if that was all there was to the case. I do internal investigations at my department. I've had officers written up, suspended and fired. I also submit my reports to the prosecutor for review and he has issued warrants against officers. Until we can find another alternative to using human officers, we'll always read stories where an officer was influenced by his humanity. Starrman69

It's roughly equivalent to the "Weekly World News" and - just like that venerable publication - is only read by complete morons. It is possible that there is some connection of this story with the truth, but I wouldn't count on it. :^)
