DUBLIN (Reuters)
An Irish artist has started an appeal for women in Ireland each to hand over
one pair of their knickers foran art installation.
Maurice Galway, based in the southern Irish county of Cork, said
he had already collected around 100 pairs of knickers from
friends, relatives and acquaintances for his work entitled I
Would Never Throw my Knickers at You.
Galway said he had heard the work's title in a song. ``I thought
what an extraordinary idea. The more I thought of it the more I
was taken with the notion,'' he told Irish daily newspaper The
Examiner.
Galway hopes eventually to exhibit the collected panties in the
Irish capital Dublin, and is considering constructing an arc of
underwear across one of the city's best known landmarks, the
Ha'Penny Bridge over the River Liffey.
