It was reported today that Monica
Lewinsky turned down a huge
offer from Judith Regan of the renowned New York Publisher Simon
& Schuster stating reasons of "distaste" since Regan also
published
"Private Parts"
, by Howard Stern.
The Simon & Schuster deal, rumored to be close to $4 million, is
likely to be the most legitimate mainstream deal Lewinsky will
be offered, taking into account the reason she is in the public
eye.
As far as finding Howard Stern distasteful, I personally find
this ridiculous given that the only
claim to fame Ms. Lewinsky
has is providing the President with oral gratification,
inventing new cigar smoking techniques, and being spotted in
various hotels and restaurants tearing up the house jumbo hot
fudge sundae.
Furthermore, Stern was one of the few people in the public eye
willing to go out on a limb and proclaim that Clinton and Ms.
Lewinsky should be simply left alone. Now, she is on his bad
side - a place I think we'd all rather not be.
