WASHINGTON (Reuters) — It is even tough being Fabio
these days.
The flowing-haired Adonis of "bodice-ripper" covers got a big
shock Tuesday when a bird apparently
crashed into his face while
he inaugurated a roller coaster in Virginia, reports said.
Fabio, 38, born Fabio Lanzoni, was at Busch Gardens in
Williamsburg to promote the park's newest hair-raising
attraction - "Apollo's Chariot."
Before the ride began, the square-jawed hunk was living up to
the mythical god's standard for manly good looks while seated in
the front chariot surrounded by women wearing tunics
and big
smiles.
Fabio apparently collided with a bird at some point during
the ride, his face spattered with blood when it was over,
officials told The Washington Post.
He was taken to a local hospital, treated for minor cuts and
released, the newspaper said. "He's absolutely fine," a Busch
Gardens spokeswoman told the Post. "We don't know the condition
of the bird."
Informed of the mishap, a spokeswoman for Fabio's publisher
told the Post, "Oh my God! Think if
his mouth was open."
