MIAMI
- The state of Florida is advertising for "exotic
dancers" willing to work nights, 40 hours a week, for $11 an
hour. In the
same way it searches for candidates for other
hard-to-fill jobs, the Florida government is searching for
strippers after a club told state officials it had so much
trouble finding dancers it wanted to import foreign workers. The
government-posted ad placed in the Palm Beach Post reads:
"Exotic dancer 40 hrs per week, 7pm-3am. Send resume to Dept. of
Labor/Bureau of Workforce Program Support."
Under the U.S. Alien Labor Certification Program, designed to
protect American workers, Florida must
first search locally for
job candidates before employers are allowed to import
foreigners. Job requirements include:
"Four years experience in the job offered. Perform modern and
acrobatic dances, coordinating body movements to musical
accompaniment. Choreograph own dance movements."
Editorial Note -
Those are tougher requirements
then I needed for my job. I never really left a strip club
because the dancers lacked experience or weren't good dancers.
I thought the
requirements were Big Breasts, firm Body ability
to steal a guys paycheck when their drunk ?
