Raul
Alberto Rodriguez found that getting people into his bedroom was
like pulling teeth, police said Wednesday.
Rodriguez, 43, was charged Wednesday with practicing dentistry
without a license and illegal possession of a hypodermic needle
after Los Angeles police found him allegedly running a makeshift
dental office from his bedroom.
Police, acting on an anonymous tip, sent an undercover officer
pretending to have a toothache to Rodriguez, who allegedly
offered to fill a molar for $40 in his bedroom, Deputy District
Attorney Mark Lambert said.
Lambert said the undercover officer declined the dental work but
returned May 14 with a search warrant and health officials.
The authorities seized dentistry records, a dental chair and
some 1,000 hypodermic needles from Rodriguez's bedroom, Lambert
said.
