"I used the expression 'ride herd.' I don't know if anybody understood the meaning. It's a little informal in diplomatic terms. I said, we're going to put a guy on the ground to ride herd on the process. See them all scratching their heads."Bush, realizing few people understand him when he speaks Source: New York Times, "The President's Trip, In the President's Words: 'A Mutual Desire to Work Toward the Vision," June 5, 2003

"Yes, the president should resign. He has lied to the American people, time and time again, and betrayed their trust. He is no longer an effective leader. Since he has admitted guilt, there is no reason to put the American people through an impeachment. He will serve absolutely no purpose in finishing out his term; the only possible solution is for the president to save some dignity and resign." William Jefferson Clinton, 1974, regarding Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal

 Thief with no balls | | By: UpAllNight | Published: 03/15/2000 | | | |

NEW YORK (AP) -- The game is over for "Soccer Guy," a thief who
picks the pockets of Japanese men by distracting them with his
fancy footwork, police say. Ben-Msyly Gil-Elie, 29, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of grand larceny after
police witnessed his act. "I'm not a soccer fan, but he was very
convincing," Sgt. James Molloy said. "We observed an individual
literally dancing around, he actually placed his hand inside
this individual's pocket, but the complainant pushed him away."
Gil-Elie was identified by four victims at lineups, Molloy said.
He was awaiting arraignment.
Molloy said 15 or 16 men have reported being victims of the scam
since October. The officer did not disclose how much money was
taken.
For months, Japanese men -- tourists and residents -- reported
that they had been pickpocketed by a man who demonstrated soccer
moves without a ball.
