This is an actual road sign outside of Alamogordo, New Mexico. (I don't even dare call it a suburb.) The road in question is made of sand and serves a couple hundred cars per year.

I love this kind of stuff. I know several highway workers in New Mexico, & I would say that across that great state ther are probably many other equally strange road sign postings.
I'd like to work with the person who planted this one in the ground.
