PayPal Virus and Scam

This isn't a Rant, but we think it is something that should be brought to your attention. A new PayPal virus is going around. If you see an email from "PayPal" claiming it needs your account information, delete it immediately. If you open the email for some reason, don't click the link in it. Instead of launching a website, it launches an application that collects your personal information and sends the info back to the bad guys. In general, never give out your personal or account information over email. A reputable service won't ask for information this way. Shred paperwork containing your personal info if you want to protect yourself from identity theft. Editor's Note: This is Public Service Announcement for all you Goofballers! PayPal Scam (0 replies) started by obxbeachbum (11.25.2003 11:48:23 PM EST) Thanks Rob. I got thay email tonight. My anti-virus software stripped off the virus attachment. I tried to send it to PayPal as a heads up but could not get an address where they accept emails.
